    Frederick Charles “Poppy” Davis of Loch Sheldrake passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 59. He was the son of Russell and Edna DeGroat Davis; born on December 7, 1950 in Middletown, NY. Frederick enjoyed fishing, hunting, racing and most importantly his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who adored his family greatly and they will sorely miss him. He is survived by his loving wife Charlene Ann Davis, three children Robert Noller Jr. and his wife Heather of Loch Sheldrake, Frederick Russell Davis of Loch Sheldrake, Dawn Kaplan and her husband Alan of Glen Wild, Grandchildren Melony, Robert, Brianna Noller and Sierra Kaplan, his sister Mary Haberzettl of Liberty, brothers Russell Davis, Paul Davis, Joseph Davis, Michael Davis, all of Norwich, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 6-9PM. A funeral service will be on Wednesday evening at 8PM. Rev. Jim Kaufman will officiate. In lieu of flower donation can be made to the family at PO Box 904 Loch Sheldrake, NY 12759.

  • Raymond Curry

    Raymond Curry, 67, of Callicoon Center, NY died at home with his family at his side, on Friday, July 16th, 2010 after a long illness. He was born September 18th, 1942 in Patterson, NJ to Jacoba Curry and the late Norwood Curry. He graduated from Midland Park High school in NJ in 1960. He served in the Armed Forces during the Cuban Missile Crisis. On April 28, 1977 he was united in marriage to Carolyn Geed in Callicoon Center, NY. Mr. Curry attended Broome County Community College. He worked as a Service Manager at M&M Ford in Liberty, NY for over 20 years. Ray was a former Warden of the Livingston Manor Masonic Lodge and a former Associate Patron for the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 298. Ray is survived by his wife, Carolyn, at home, his mother, Jacoba Curry (FL), his son and his wife, Peter and Mary Curry (SC), his daughter Susan Curry (Port Jervis), his son and his fiancé, David Curry and Jennifer Sorrell (VA), his daughter and her husband, Samantha (Noble) and Keith McKenzie (TX); grandchildren, Raymond and Jake Curry (SC), Mellissa Howard (Port Jervis), Isabella and Sophie McKenzie (TX), and one brother and his wife, David and Debbie Curry (FL), as well as his beloved cats and bird. Services will be held Monday, July, 19, 2010 from 7-9pm at t Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street. Livingston Manor, NY. 12758. There will be a Masonic Service at 8:00pm followed by an Order of the Easten Star service. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan County, Inc. or the Order of Easten Star Chapter 298.

    Doris Ann Allan, 76 January 13 1934 - June 24 2010 Doris Ann Allan of South Fallsburg passed away Thursday June 24th 2010. The daughter of Carl and Julia Layton, Doris was born January 13th 1934 in Ellenville NY. Doris was a dedicated mother and grandmother always putting her families interests first, She was the perfect example of a \"stay at home mom\". She married her husband Charles \"Chick\" Allan on July 23rd, 1950 in Walden NY, married for a total of 60 years. Doris is survived by her loving husband Charles at home and their children Darlene Allan of South Fallsburg, Steven Allan and his wife Karen of South Fallsburg, and Deborah Zolnoski of Middletown. Her Grandchildren Stacy Levine and husband Richard, Richard Shaddock and wife Sandy, Keith Shaddock, Bryan Bernstein, Jennifer Lonham and husband Jeffrey, Ricky Stoll Jr. and Megan Rupert. Also her great grandchildren Madison Levine, Jordan Barry and Samantha Shaddock. As well as her Sister Beatrice Curry and her husband Robert of Ellenville.     George R. Montesi of Woodbourne died on Monday June 28, 2010 in Achieve Rehab and Nursing in Liberty he was 83. George was born April 27, 1927 in Barbados of the British West Indies to Amedeo and Rosella Montesi. He served his country during World War II with the Navy See Bees, Retired from Grumman Industries in Long Island and was a life member of the Floral park VFD, member of Loch Sheldrake Seniors. George enjoyed reading, doing word searches and watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. George was a beloved husband of the late Margoret Mickey Montesi to whom he was married to for 47 years. Survived by his daughter Maria E Laurie and her husband Troy of Woodbourne, Grand children Giovani and Michael LAuria, Matthew, Ian and Ryan Montesi; One daughter-in-law Nancy Montesi. He was predeceased by his son Michael Montesi, two brothers John and Harold Montesi and one sister Iris Windisch. A memorial service will be held Thursday July 1st, 2010 at 11 AM at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home 396 state route 52 woodbourne NY, The Reverend Paul Ruter will officiate.

    James Francis Jr., of Livingston Manor passed died June 17 2010. He was 62. He was the son of the late Ruth and James Francis Sr., born March 7, 1948 in Staten Island NY. James was a Vietnam Veteran, past commander order of the Purple Heart, Veteran\'s rights lobbyist, and 1968 Purple Heart recipient. Jimmy built a house and became a resident of Livingston Manor 28 years ago. He was active in Veterans rights. He was a member of the Livingston Manor Volunteer Fire department and the Livingston Manor Ambulance corp. Jimmy made friends everywhere he went and will be missed by all his extended family. He is survived by his brothers John, Donald, Kevin and Kenny of Staten Island and His formers spouse Caroline Kosowski. A memorial service will be held at the Livingston Manor Fire house on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 7 pm. He was a loving father and he will be sorely missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his loving wife Ann King-Sparks his daughter Ann Marie Sparks and son, Robert J. Sparks.     Jacqueline Tasch Trimble of Loch Sheldrake passed away on July 9, 2010 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was 71. She was the daughter of the late Jacob and Florence Dykman Tasch, born on March 5, 1939 in the Bronx, NY. At one time she lived in Long Island and worked for Babylon S.D.; she later moved to Loch Sheldrake in 1993 with her husband Eddie and son Eddie Bowers and her daughter Heidi Bowers. In 2007 her son John and his wife Linda moved up here to be close to her. She also worked at Kutchers Country Club Hotel, Grandview Hotel and Fox Croft Village. She was very sad over the loss of her beloved Eddie whom she lost in September 2009, her sudden death was determined to be a heart attack but for those that truly knew Jackie knew her knew it was because of her broken heart. Now she shares heaven with her eternal love Eddie. Jackie was well known for her love and compassion for other people, and will be missed for her joyful giggles. She leaves behind her sons John Bowers and his wife Linda and Edward Bowers, two daughters Jackie Riker of Long Island, and Heidi Bowers, grandchildren Eric, Jennifer, Jason, Melissa; brothers Carl Tasch of the Bronx; sisters Joanie Berlingerri, Holly Bugge, Silvia Tasch and niece Holly and nephew Eric, and many friends. In lieu of flowers please send donations for Eddie and Heidi to carry the house hold expenses until they get over their shock and grief. The family deeply appreciates your prayers.     Kathleen Rose Wheeler December 9th 1914 – July 12th, 2010 Kathleen Rose Wheeler passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at the SNU unit at Catskill Regional Medical Center. Born December 9, 1914; one of four children of Olive Sietz and Eugene Brown in Syracuse, New York. Graduated St. Mary’s Nursing School in Syracuse then Moved to Brooklyn, New York. Where she met and Married William F. Lotterhos July 16, 1938. Kathleen worked as an LPN at Bellevue Hospital and Richmond Hospital while raising her five children. Kathleen retired to Interlaken, NY where she married Robert E. Wheeler. Later they moved to Plantation, FL. Her beloved Robert, passed away in July 1999. She then moved back to NY to live her remaining years. Kathleen is survived by four children: Joan Ohre (Mel), Robert Lotterhos (Teresa), Edna Coster (Jim) and Eugene Lotterhos (JoAnn); one sister, Marjorie Schick, of Syracuse; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by husbands, William F. Lotterhos, Robert E. Wheeler; son, William C. Lotterhos; grandson Brian S. Lotterhos; sister, Eileen Bewley and brother, Eugene Brown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kathleen’s memory to the Brian S. Lotterhos Scholarship Fund, 4092 West Lake Road, Geneva, NY 14456.     Paula Cucksey Nichols of Mountaindale passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010 peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was 93. She was the daughter of the late Thomas G. and Pauline Graff Cucksey; born on September 1, 1916 in Nyack. She was a loving mother and grandmother and adored greatly by her family who will deeply miss her. She made her home a welcoming place for all to come and visit. Paula leaves behind her three loving grandsons Joseph Gonzalez Jr. of Mountaindale, Arthur Prihoda of Florida, and Francis Shanley of Troy, one granddaughter Tracey White and her husband Sam of Walden, three great granddaughters Alania Gonzalez, Yahaerah Lopez-Gonzalez, and Samantha White, one great grandson Joseph Gonzalez III, one brother Edward Cucksey and his wife Dorothy of Nyack, one niece Sandra Cucksey. Paula was predeceased by her beloved husband Arthur Nichols, two daughters Barbara Shanley, and Irene Prihoda. Vistiatation will be held today Tuesday July 20 , 2010 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 7-9PM. A grave side service will be on July 21 , 2010 at 11:00AM at Oak Hill Cemetery followed by internment. Rev. Robin Mitchell will officiate.     Raymond W Porter Raymond Porter of Hurleyville passed away Monday July 19th 2010. Raymond was born the son of Edo and Lula Terwilliger Porter in Hurleyville,NY , October 1st 1923. Raymond is a beloved husband, brother, father, grand father and great grandfather, He will truly be missed by all. Raymond served his country in the Korean conflict from September 1946 to march 1948. He was a carpenter and took much pride in informing everyone he built his home in the summer of 1953. He and his wife moved in on Thanksgiving day and made it home for \"his girls\" whom he loved dearly. He loved to make them laugh and telling them stories of him growing up on the Porter Homestead with his brothers, sisters and friends. He was predeceased by his mother and father along with his brothers Douglas, Stanley, Bernard and Richard, also his sister Eleanor. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Edith S Porter. Sister Eloise Porter of Hurleyville and Dorothy Hessinger and her husband Walter of Cody WY. Brother Cliff Porter and his wife Carol of Hurleyville. Daughters Carol Bridges and husband Robert of Smithville flats, NY, Peggy Winchell and husband James of Stone Ridge, NY and Susan DeMestrio and husband Antonio of Rock Hill, NY. Granddaughters Heather Welles and husband Roger of Canon City, CO, Christina and Victoria DeMestrio of Rockhill, NY, Cheyanne Edwards of Stone Ridge, NY. Grandsons, Michael and Steven DeMestrio of Rockhill, NY and Ryan Edwards of Stone Ridge, NY. Great granddaughter Valerie Weller of Canon City, CO and great grandson Austin Welles of Canon City, CO. Along with his faithful companion \'Skylar\'. Ray fought a courageous battle with Alzheimer\'s and will be sadly missed.     Sharon M. Squires of Woodbourne passed away on July 22, 2010 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was 58. She was the daughter of the late Gene W. and Janet Moore Smith; born on June 25, 1952 in Passak, NJ. Sharon was a well rounded person, she enjoyed computer games, NASCAR, gardening, birds, but most importantly children, that is how she became a Tri-Valley Central School district bus driver. Sharon was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, and will be deeply missed. Sharon is survived by her two daughters Patti Kendrick and her husband David of Tennessee, Rachel Countryman and her husband George of Claryville, two sons Robert \"Michael\" Squires of Woodbourne, and Scott E. Squires of Claryville and their father Robert E. Squires of Fl., one brother Gene and his wife Vikki Smith of Woodbourne, six grandchildren: Shannon, Natalie, Keegan, Nikole, Phailyn, and Caleb, and her companion Glendon Powell of Woodbourne.
